Fundraising Concert in Fairlie Church a sell out success

If you happened to walk past Fairlie Parish Church on Friday night you would have heard beautiful sounds wafting into the darkness. Our choir were hosting a charity concert supporting Largs FoodBank, West Kilbride Larder and The Women’s refuge.

The evening was a great success. A sell out concert!

The choir opened with Follow the Heron, a beautiful song by Karine Polwart.  The audience reacted positively to every performance, enthusiastically introduced by Harry Campbell our choir master and master of ceremonies. These included local bright young talent – vocalist Brooke Beveridge (accompanied by choir pianist, Ian Matheson), cellist David Sutherland (accompanied on the piano by Helen Mitchell) and Clyde Armenaud, accompanied by Johnny Urie. The audience was also treated to rousing performances by Inverclyde Brass Ensemble and Tickety Boo, and to a beautiful duet by husband and wife, Jennifer and Mike Mc Shane. The concert reached its finale with a spirited performance by the Community Choir, with the entire audience joining in.

Thanks to Linda and the choir committee the whole evening was a great success. Money raised – £1650 – thanks to ticket sales and generous purchasing of raffle tickets. Also thanks to choir members for their efforts in the sales department. I’m sure everyone thought they got great value for money!
